Join us for a dynamic two day Pastel Masterclass led by the internationally recognised, award winning, plein air artist, Aaron Scheurr. This workshop is designed to guide you from initial thumbnail sketches to a completed painting, unlocking the potential of landscape art.
Learn to capture landscapes with pastels it in a manner that is direct, simple, fresh, and geniune. Engage in interactive exercises focused on enhancing your understanding of value, colour, and shape. With this strong foundation, we'll delve into the techniques of managing edges, creating atmospheric perspective, understanding colour and shape relationships, and developing compelling compositions and mood. Discover methods to maximise the impact of your colours and refine your ability to paint with clear intention.
The masterclass includes demonstrations, group discussions, composition walks, painting exercises, and ample personal instruction, all aimed at boosting your enthusiasm and confidence in approaching landscapes. While the primary focus will be plein air painting, we’ll also explore strategies to transform plein air studies into more developed studio pieces. Open to both pastel and oil mediums, with demonstrations provided in pastel, this workshop promises to elevate your artistic skills and vision to new heights!
