Emphasising experimentation and artistry, the band crafts music that presents everything from hard-hitting riffs, ethereal synths, and complex time signatures, all accompanied by thoughtful lyrics. Platypus: Influenced by progressive heavyweights like Karnivool, Porcupine Tree, and Cog, Platypus are quickly making waves in Perth’s thriving prog scene. After years of dedicated songwriting and refining their sound, the trio have emerged with a distinctive style that blends precision guitar work, heavy bass tones, acoustic interludes, polyrhythms, and abstract lyricism.
