Is it possible to develop the ability to sense—and how does it affect the dance?
How can we move with less effort by aligning with the forces of nature?
What are the conditions that support the flow of movement?

In this Contact Improvisation workshop, we will explore the meeting point between structure and flow, between effort and release, between grounding and floating. By tuning into sensation, we’ll discover how clear physical structure can support freedom, choice, and expression within the dance. We’ll explore how to move more efficiently by utilizing the skeleton, minimizing muscular effort, and using gravity as a partner. This essential balance between form and flow—so present in nature—offers us a dance that is alive, grounded, and free.

The workshop blends individual research with shared work in pairs and groups. We’ll bridge somatic awareness with acrobatic exploration, integrating sensation and action, passivity and activity, softness and strength. Throughout the process, we will deepen into the biomechanics of the body as a source of valuable information, and discover how refining bodily awareness can enhance both internal experience and inter-being communication. In this space of exploration, we will invite the new, and hopefully experience and express that which cannot be spoken.
