Honey and Health: Nature’s Sweet Treat

We invite you to join us on Thursday, August 21, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Senior Resource Center, 206 E Stephenson St, Freeport, IL. University of Illinois Extension, in partnership with the Senior Resource Center, is excited to offer a lifelong learner’s favorite: Honey and Health: Nature’s Sweet Treat.

Honey is nature’s golden gift, crafted from flower nectar and transformed by bees into a delicious and versatile sweetener. With over 300 varieties, each boasting unique colors, aromas, and flavors, honey’s appeal continues to grow for its taste, nutritional, and therapeutic benefits.

In this program, we’ll explore the basics of honey, its sensory attributes, common terminology, and many uses. You’ll also get to take home easy and delicious honey-infused recipes to make at home. Whether you’re a honey enthusiast or just curious to learn more, this session will be a sweet experience!
