Har du lyst til deltage i en kunstnerisk og kollektiv research på Sydhavnstippen?
Som en del af det kunstneriske arbejde til forestillingen The Rites of Wreckage and Waste inviterer vi dig til at deltage i to workshops på Tippen i maj. Workshoppene ledes af den brasilianske kunstner Rodrigo Andreolli og operasanger Lucie Cure som vil facilitere undersøgelser af de materialer, stemmer, bevægelser og minder som ligger i Sydhavnstippens landskab.
SYNGE MED RUINER (ENG BELOW)

I denne workshop vil Rodrigo Andreolli og operasanger og komponist Lucie Cure, facilitere en session, der kombinerer stemmearbejde, tekst og musikalsk udforskning af Tippens underverden af affald og ruiner. Vi vil eksperimentere med stemmeøvelser og praksis med gentagne lyde og fraser som musikalske kompositioner, inspireret af landskabets historier og materialitet.
Praksissen med gentagne lyde og fraser har optrådt i mange kulturer gennem historien. Et mantra, fra sanskrit man (sind) og tra (værktøj), er traditionelt et ord, en lyd eller en frase, der gentages for at støtte meditation, fokus, intention eller åndeligt arbejde. I de oprindelige amazonske Icaros, de nordiske galdr og keltiske sangtraditioner trækker denne praksis på forfædres brug af lyd som påkaldelse, transformation, åndelig energi og justering.
Under workshoppen vil vi afprøve kollektiv sang-øvelser og afprøve mantraet som et vokalt redskab til at forbinde os med det fælles lydlandskab og dets ruiner. Disse vokale gentagelser vil blive udforsket kollektivt, genbrugt, omformet og re kontekstualiseret, som broer mellem fortid, nutid og fremtid. De kan måske endda blive til protestsange med beskyttende intentioner rettet mod Sydhavnstippen?
Workshoppen vil inkludere:
- En udflugt til Sydhavnstippen med introduktion til vokale opvarmningsøvelser og eksperimenter med nye måder at synge og lytte på.
- Øvelser i at skabe lyd og fortællinger baseret på landskabets historie, atmosfære og fortid. Et samlingspunkt, hvor individuelle mantraer overlapper, krydser og smelter sammen til en rytme af sameksistens.
- Udforskning af poetiske og musikalske udtryk, der reflekterer over landskabet, hvor biodiversitet, ruiner, affald og erindring er sammenfiltrede. Samt hvordan koreografi kan opstå med udgangspunkt i lyd i landskabet.
- Feltoptagelser af vores mantraer og vokale teksturer, som vil blive genbrugt og omformet til lydsiden i The Rites of Wreckage and Waste-forestillingerne i september.
Alle stemmer er velkomne. Der kræves ingen musikalsk baggrund.

Would you like to take part in an artistic and collective research on Sydhavnstippen?
As part of the artistic work for the performance The Rites of Wreckage and Waste, we invite you to participate in two workshops on Tippen in May. The workshops are led by Brazilian artist Rodrigo Andreolli and operasinger and composer, Lucie Cure, who will facilitate explorations of the materials, voices, movements, and memories embedded in the landscape of Sydhavnstippen.
SINGING WITH RUINS
May 26–29, 16:00–19:00
In this workshop, Rodrigo Andreolli and opera singer and composer Lucie Cure will facilitate a session combining voice work, text, and musical exploration of the underground world of waste and ruins at Tippen.
We will experiment with voice exercises and the practice of repetitive sounds and phrases as musical compositions, inspired by the stories and materiality of the landscape.
The practice of repetitive sounds and phrases has appeared in many cultures throughout history. A mantra, from the Sanskrit man (mind) and tra (tool), is traditionally a word, sound, or phrase repeated to support meditation, focus, intention, or spiritual work. In the Indigenous Amazonian Icaros, Norse galdr, and Celtic chant traditions, this practice draws on ancestral uses of sound as invocation, transformation, spiritual energy, and attunement.
During the workshop, we will try out collective singing exercises and explore the mantra as a vocal tool to connect with the shared sonic landscape and its ruins. These vocal repetitions will be explored collectively, reused, reshaped, and re-contextualized as bridges between past, present, and future. They might even become songs of protest with protective intentions toward Sydhavnstippen?
The workshop will include:
An excursion to Sydhavnstippen with an introduction to vocal warm-ups and experiments with new ways of singing and listening.
Exercises in creating sound and narratives based on the landscape’s history, atmosphere, and past. A moment of convergence, where individual mantras overlap, intersect, and merge into a rhythm of coexistence.
Exploration of poetic and musical expressions reflecting on the landscape, where biodiversity, ruins, waste, and memory are entangled. As well as how choreography can arise from sound in the landscape.
Field recordings of our mantras and vocal textures, which will be reused and reshaped as part of the soundscape for The Rites of Wreckage and Waste performances in September.
All voices are welcome. No musical background is required.
