Operation: Lion’s Den
This is an MILSIM (Military Simulation) event. Ties are strained between NATO forces and Foreign entities at the moment as a result of the procurement of radioactive material being harvested for nefarious reasons from a neutral country.
However, Local countrymen are seeking to be prosperous and
will work with either side to grow their own innovative building the wealth for their own nation as others fight for different causes. The locals are opening their land for business and lack the understanding of other global political agendas.
NATO has decided to step in and help halt the Foreign forces from procuring the resources they seek. The foreign forces consists of battle-hardened veterans from the War from the GWOT (Global War on Terrorism) era, who are heavily armed with machine guns and mortars.
The local government suspects that this group may even go to the extremes of using chemical weapons on the local people to achieve its goal. There is currently no solid proof aside from information gathered from Middle Eastern intelligence services, which is sketchy at best. NATO has its own assets currently working to confirm these claims, but thus far the claims are unsubstantiated.
To make matters worse, it is suspected that the rebels have managed to capture several high ranking military officials from the reconnaissance team and are currently holding them hostage. The Local government declined to comment on who these individuals are, but does claim that they are being tortured. According to the rules of the Geneva Convention, the Countries of these men are requesting assistance on this basis as well. There is digital evidence provided by the Foreign forces that has yet to be authenticated. Digital evidence also appears to show that these forces may have already been testing the chemical warfare agents on innocent civilians. Once again this has yet to be authenticated.
NATO has stepped up under an agreement with the current Local government that if successful, NATO will support Local endeavors and eradicate all Foreign forces now and in the future. There is a kink in the plan however. Special Forces must coordinate with Locals in the area where the Foreign forces are suspected to have their camp. The local population have a strong distrust of all global powers due to a previous failed mission where many were killed in a blue on blue incident involving US ordinance strike several years back. The power struggle is on and who will lead the new world is yet to be decided.
