Back to Church Sunday

On Sunday, September 7th, we here at Church of the Messiah will be kicking off our Fall schedule with the return of our Sunday morning Adult Education class and our children’s Sunday School program. Our Adult Education class will be picking up with our study of the Gospel according to Matthew (we’ll do a review lesson on the 7th to get us all back up to speed), while our Sunday School class will be learning about the Lectionary lessons appointed for each Sunday and doing crafts grounded in those lessons.

In addition to the return of these Sunday morning classes, we’re also introducing something new this year. There will now be a children’s sermon at both our 8:30 and 11am services! These short children’s sermons will be focusing on a variety of topics over the coming year from things like “Why do we go to church?” to lessons on Baptism, Holy Communion, and the Bible.

In an effort to start the new program year off right, we’re encouraging everyone to come out to church on September 7th. Unless you’re sick or out of town, please try to make it a point to join us at either 8:30 or 11am that Sunday. If you’ve been away for the Summer, it’s a good time to get back in the swing of things. Hope to see you all there!
