Mark your calendars and join us for a very special WISH Christmas Morning Meeting — featuring none other than Santa Claus 🎄🧑🎄 and his amazing team straight from the North Pole! They’ll be packing up the sleigh, hitching the reindeer, and making a magical stop right here in Frederick to spend the morning with us! ❤️
But that’s not all — this year we are honoring the incredible story of Kujenga Inclusive Game Changer School (KIGCS), founded by Maggie Lusweti.
Maggie’s journey began as a furloughed federal worker from Kenya, inspired by her late father’s legacy as an education activist and her experience raising a son on the autism spectrum. Guided by the African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child,” Maggie founded KIGCS in 2022 in Bungoma, Kenya — a school dedicated to empowering children with special needs through Academic Remediation, Life Skills Training, and Vocational Training.
Students create beautiful handicrafts — beaded baskets, jewelry, napkin holders — which are shipped to the U.S. and sold to fund and expand the school’s programs. Every contribution helps ensure these programs continue, empowering more young people to reach their potential.
