Live Music with Nate Weiler is coming up at our car show, Wednesday, August 20th. Nate Weiler is a singer/songwriter who resides in Duluth, MN. Growing up in South Minneapolis he was
fortunate to have parents, siblings and teachers who supported his natural gravitation towards all music.
He played trombone in the high school jazz band, while simultaneously playing drums in a thrash metal
band. He takes pride in the fact that his first concert ever was Boyz 2 Men, and later in life saw Slayer, Tori Amos, Rage Against the Machine and Ben Harper at the same at a St. Paul venue.
Moving to Duluth for college, he would eventually be gifted a position at the now infamous Pizza Luce Duluth, where he
worked and witnessed the thriving talents of local artists such as Charlie Parr, Rich Mattson, The Hobo Nephew’s of Uncle Frank and Trampled by Turtles. The list is endless. Nate was moved and
encouraged to break out of his shell and share his passion for playing and singing for the Northland community. From Soul to punk, folk to funk, bluegrass and Junk, he plays all things strings to honor all genres of music. “If someone takes time to create and share through artistic expression...I’m all ears.”
N Weiler. From the bar room corner playing for tips and beer, to the side of a bonfire where he is most comfortable, he delivers a mix of original and an eclectic collection of cover tunes that will draw you in or have you pleasantly tapping your feet without even knowing it. Besides playing solo, he can be seen playing Banjo for local Duluth bands such as Emily Havvik and the 35s, Danny Frank and the Smokey Gold, Glens Neighbor and The Low Sons. He also spent nearly a decade as a wilderness guide in SE Alaska and formed the band Hillbilly Jean who still plays sporadically around the Midwest and Pacific Northwest. He has an acoustic album called “Three Year Winter”, a collection of original songs simply
recorded by friends in basements around Duluth. Some relatable influences are The Wood Brothers, Keller Williams, Jason Isbell, John Prine, Brandi Carlile, Sam Cooke, Susan Tedeschi, Leon Bridges and
James Taylor. Nate lives in the backwoods of Duluth with his wonderful partner, Samantha, their daughter, Zayvian, and their Bernese Mountain dog mix, Brewster. Sneak up the North Shore and listen for him belting tunes from the comforts of their guest yurt, or into the open fields across the road.
