On this tour, you’ll explore our vibrant operation, including:
– Sustainable Practices: Learn how we use cover cropping, composting, reduced tillage, and integrated pest management to steward the land. We'll share insights on how we work to continuously build soil health.
– Hoop Houses & Greenhouse: Step inside our season-extending structures where we start seedlings and grow crops year-round. Discover how we manage temperature, irrigation, and W**d control sustainably in these spaces with the help of our community.
– Field Production: See our diverse vegetable fields in action, where a combination of hand-scale and tractor-based techniques help us efficiently grow large volumes of fruits and vegetables for the community 100% free of charge.
– Natural Areas & Orchards: Walk through our pollinator-friendly buffer zones, wooded edges, and perennial fruit tree plantings. Learn how these spaces support biodiversity and contribute to a resilient farm ecosystem.
– Nutrition Education: Through hands-on learning, students in 3rd–5th grade explore how healthy eating supports their growing bodies. They work in their school garden to grow fruits and vegetables, visit the farm to see where food comes from, and get to make simple, healthy recipes in the kitchen. By planting, harvesting, tasting, and cooking, students learn how good food fuels their bodies and builds lifelong healthy habits.
Whether you're a gardener, volunteer, supporter or simply curious about where your food comes from, this tour offers an inspiring look at how farming, food access, and environmental care come together to serve our community.
