An artist's move to Mexico might also benefit local art lovers.
Barbara Bailey Hutchison, a Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, retired from her 40-year career in the music business and has spent the past several years in her studio creating art. She works in mixed water media with her primary focus being portraits. Her body of work also includes landscapes and florals. A few years ago, she entered into the realm of cardboard, assembling and painting whimsical figures she calls her "Cardboard Creations".
Hutchison studied art at Michigan State University. In addition to many portrait commissions, her paintings are included in public and private collections and are also featured on album covers of various musical performers.
Barbara and her husband, Chris, decided to put their Williamson County log home in Fairview on the market and move to Mexico. They have grown to love the traditions and the family-forward attitude of the Mexican culture.
Hutchison has cleaned out her studio and will be offering her cache of paintings and whimsical cardboard creations at the Franklin Art Crawl on August 1st. Now is your opportunity to purchase beautiful original artwork at fire sale prices. In her words, "Everything must go!"
Hutchison's location at the crawl is Luxury Homes, 231 Public Square Suite 230, in Franklin. The crawl will take place on Friday, August 1st, from 6 - 9 PM.
