About the event

APC Summer Sweeper Series #13 - Stone Street pattern - Matt Urban in booth + Car/shirt prizes!
The American Place Casino Summer Sweeper Series is back and better than ever!

Welcome to the often imitated, but definitely NEVER duplicated American Place Casino Summer Sweeper Series, where bowlers have a chance to compete with different challenges all summer long for their shot at winning a $1000 Grand Prize! Points are awarded each week based on your performance, and the top-5 point winners of the summer in the main event will have their chance to compete in a stepladder roll off on Wednesday, 8/27 for that $1000 Grand Prize! Weekly prize funds and side pots will take place as well, so be sure to get to Country Lanes for all the fun this summer!

This year we have three divisions for the series: Handicapped (main event), Scratch, and Senior (also handicapped). All bowlers will be entered into the main event and scratch divisions with their entry fee. If a bowler qualifies to be in the senior division (age 50 or older), then they will be entered into that division as well. The main event will operate the same for the bowlers as it always has, where there are points awarded based on cuts made, scores, etc. (full details at the bottom). For the new divisions, bowlers will earn points separately for those divisions based solely on their 3 qualifying games of the event. For example, if an event has 35 bowlers, the highest scratch bowler for the three qualifying games will earn 35 points, the 2nd highest scratch bowler will earn 34, etc.

Bowlers also have the ability to double their main event points earned during a single event one time during the entire summer series. Bowlers MUST inform a tournament official of their intent to use their double point night BEFORE their first ball of their first frame of the competition on that night, or their use of the double points will not be allowed. Bowlers are allowed to bowl their warmups in the allotted 10 minutes of practice before each event before notification to a tournament official, however once their first scoring shot has been thrown, their decision to use or not use the double points is locked and can not be changed.

Youth bowlers are eligible to bowl these events! All rules regarding youth bowlers receiving prizes are covered by USBC Rule 400 ( https://images.bowl.com/bowl/media/legacy/internap/bowl/rules/pdfs/USBCRule400.pdf) and will be adhered to by Country Lanes. Please see a tournament official prior to bowling an event for any needed clarification.

All of our events this summer will be live streamed with $2 Phil Brylow and Ten on the Deck Productions! Be ready for exciting guests and fun bowling action that you can follow from anywhere! We are also giving away a Championship bucket from Holz motors to the winner every week, along with the winner getting to claim the weekly championship belt!

Event #13 is gearing up for a sprint to the finish line for this year's Summer Sweeper Series, and we are going to put out a pattern that will rev up the scoring! We are going to put out the Kegel Stone Street pattern, which is 42 feet long and a 10.5:1 ratio, but just 23 mLs of volume will challenge bowlers to consistently move their feet as the pattern breaks down, though the areas they are moving to should still be plenty scorable. If you haven't used your double points yet, this may be the event for you to do so, as bowlers look to make their way into the top-5 stepladder for the season finale on the Brew City Bowling show!

We are excited to welcome Matt Urban back to the booth with $2 Phil Brylow this week! Since his first visit to the Sweeper Series earlier this year, Matt has gone on an absolute tear on the dirt tracks, with multiple heat and feature wins! We are going to be giving away Matt Urban t-shirts and also mini replica cars this week to the top-4 qualifiers, so be sure to be ready to battle! Tune in to the broadcast to hear all about his wins and successes, challenges along the way this season, and maybe a bit about jumping into the pond for a celebration! :) Check out the discussion section for a pic of the pattern this week and a picture of the car too!

This event is $30 to enter. $5 goes to Country Lanes for lineage, $5 goes to the season-long payouts for the top 5 point earners of the summer, and $20 goes to the nightly prize fund.

This event, as is the same for all events in the Summer Sweeper Series, is handicapped using 80% of 230 for the basis, so all bowling styles and abilities are welcome! Averages used for the tournament will be the highest sanctioned 21-game average from the most recently completed season, unless the tournament director deems re-rating to a different average to be appropriate based on context, performance, etc. Tournament director has final say on average to be used for the event.

After three games of qualifying, we will cut to the top 18 bowlers. Then we will have bowlers draw for lanes, make a cut to the top 9, then the top 4 for the final game to determine the champion that week!

Points structure:

Make the cut to the top-18 - 1 point
Make the cut to the top-9 - 1 point
Make the cut to the top-4 - 1 point
Winner of the event - 2 points
Highest scratch qualifier in top-18 - 1 point
Highest HDCP qualifier in top-18 - 1 point
Highest scratch score to miss the cut to top-18 - 1 point
Highest HDCP score to miss the cut to the top-18 - 1 point

Check-in starts at 6:00pm.
Event starts at 6:30pm.

Brew City Bowling show stepladder finals will be on Wednesday, 8/27. The top-5 bowlers from the main HDCP event will qualify to be on the show. Prizes are as follows: 1st Place - $1000, 2nd Place - $500, 3rd Place - $400, 4th Place - $300, 5th Place - $200. In case of any ties in the standings, tiebreakers to determine the five finalists are as follows: First tiebreaker = Number of sweeper victories. Second tiebreaker = Total season scoring average with HDCP. Third tiebreaker = Number of events attended.

You won't find another Summer Sweeper series in the southeastern Wisconsin area that provides our combination of value, fun, prizes, entertainment, and overall great times while giving bowlers a competitive challenge all season long.

We are looking forward to another fun summer of challenges, so be sure to attend the events and rack up those points for your chance at $1000 in the American Place Casino Summer Sweeper Series!
