BAROQUE BRASS featuring Louis Hanzlick, trumpet and Bernhard Scully, horn -- Virtuoso Concertos by Antonio VIVALDI, Georg Friedrich HANDEL, Georg Philipp TELEMANN and others.

Brass instruments played distinct and important roles in both life and music during the 17th and 18 centuries. Trumpets and horns were originally used for signaling in hunting, military, and ceremonial contexts, symbolizing power and high social status. Technical innovations and the genius of masters like Vivaldi, Handel and Telemann, all featured on this program, elevated them from outdoor clarions to virtuosic and expressive musical powerhouses in all settings.

The North Country Chamber Players have adopted a “Pay-What-You-Wish” ticket pricing for concerts. Seating is limited, so attendees are asked to make free online reservations.
