Historic Newport Walking Tour

The community of Newport (now Fountain City) was well-known as a safe haven for freedom-seekers in the decades leading up to the Civil War. While Levi and Catharine Coffin were instrumental in aiding those travelling the Underground Railroad, there were many others who helped them! Discover the community members who worked with the Coffins to aid freedom-seekers, and see what Newport was like during the 19th century during this special tour.
