This is the annual gathering of Gippsland’s community singers, singing leaders and their support teams. Swap songs, skills, and stories! Sing your heart out! Accommodation is at Camp Rumbug, a school camp near Foster.. Accommodation is in shared 3-bed ensuite rooms.
Cost is $350 full ($300 conc). (We were very lucky with our accommodation costs last year so, yes, it’s an unwelcome but unavoidable price hike). You can book accommodation off-site or enquire about bringing a van (limited no’s & no power) if you prefer, but the fee remains the same to make the event viable:
We start on Friday at 5pm (or later when you can get there) and run to late Sunday morning.
It is a weekend of peer exchange, so you can offer to lead a workshop or suggest a workshop topic: Workshops will focus on singing and singing leadership with plenty of song swaps, jamming and great food and fun mixed in! We aim to suit all levels of singing & leadership experience and to offer lots of opportunities to just have a good sing or gather new songs! There will be free time to enjoy the area and a chance to network with other groups and people.
The program is created in advance using ideas from participants. The participants present the workshops. The program will be like previous years, probably including the following workshops:
Aimed at leaders and open to all:
❖ Beginners’ skills for new singing leaders
❖ Special session where mentored leaders can teach their songs.
❖ Leading/learning more complex challenging songs
❖ Exploring different methods of teaching songs
❖ Singing Leaders Gabfest (sharing issues and helping each other)
❖ Ideas for warm-ups
Aimed at everyone.
❖ All-in singing sessions
❖ Themed song swaps
❖ Singing outside
❖ Saturday night celebration singing
❖ Improvisation
❖ Harmony…and much more
