The Writer’s Nest: A Creative Workshop for Youth & Young Adults Presented by Metro Authors Group!

The Writer’s Nest is a safe, empowering space where young voices are encouraged to rise. This hands-on writing workshop is designed for youth and young adults who want to explore creative expression, build confidence, and connect with others through the power of words.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, this workshop is being offered FREE. Please note that registration is limited to 50 participants. Participants will engage in guided writing activities, group sharing, and real conversations that affirm their experiences and strengthen their storytelling skills. Whether you're into journaling, poetry, short stories, or just need a place to start, this workshop is for you.

Ages 12–18. Come ready to write, reflect, and grow in a community that believes your story matters. The workshop will begin with a welcome and introductions, followed by interactive writing exercises, group discussions, and individual creative time. Light refreshments will be served during the break. By the end of the session, participants will have gained valuable insights into their creative potential and will leave with a piece of their own writing to share.

Joy Lewis is the Founder and Executive Director at Joy & Company. She serves as Secretary of the Metro Authors Group and is a skilled book editor and ghostwriter. Joy is passionate about uplifting authors and promoting literature that inspires, encourages, and honors purpose-filled writing.

Gwen Brown is the visionary founder of She’s Empowering Her, a dynamic speaker, certified master life coach, and mental health advocate. She is committed to equipping women and girls to walk boldly in purpose, healing, and wholeness. Through creative writing and mentorship, Gwen empowers youth to build confidence, express themselves, and discover the power of their voice. Gwen is also a proud member of the Metro Authors Group.
