Join us Saturday for our Monthly Arts & Crafts Moon Event.
This month is the Sturgeon Moon .
What is the Sturgeon Moon?
The Sturgeon Moon, traditionally the full moon of August, is celebrated in various cultures as a time of abundance, reflection, and connection with nature. Named by Native American tribes, particularly the Algonquin, this moon marked the period when sturgeon—large, ancient fish—were most readily caught in the Great Lakes and other major bodies of water. Today, the Sturgeon Moon is often honored through moonlit gatherings, storytelling, meditation, and rituals that focus on harvest, gratitude, and inner strength. Many people use this full moon as an opportunity to set intentions, release old patterns, and align with the rhythms of the natural world. It serves as both a seasonal marker and a spiritual reminder of resilience and prosperity.
In celebration we are making mason jar lanterns to set our intentions and by the light to guide us .
