About the Author:Sharifa Stevens is a writer, poet, speaker, and singer. A daughter of Jamaican immigrants, she was born and raised in New York and now lives with her family in Dallas, Texas.

She holds a B.A. in African American Studies from Columbia University and a Master’s in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. Sharifa’s words move readers toward the sacred and the honest, intersecting faith, justice, and identity.

Her work includes co-authoring Only Light Can Do That, and contributions to Vindicating the Vixens, Rally, and Lecrae’s upcoming book Set Me Free.
