This moment demands action. The Trump administration is launching one of the most aggressive attacks on our civil and human rights in a generation, from voter-suppression laws, such as the SAVE Act, to criminalizing protest and silencing our voices.
On July 17, the anniversary of Congressman John Lewis’ passing, we are hosting a Good Trouble Lives On: March & Rally in Fort Wayne, and we’re inviting you to stand with us:
● WHERE: Our march will begin at Lawton Skatepark, 1600 N. Clinton St., and end 0.6 mile away in a rally on the Allen County Courthouse Green, South Clinton Street. (Public restrooms are available at the Skatepark, but not the Courthouse.)
● WHEN: 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, July 17 (If you would prefer not to walk, please join us for just the rally at about 6:30 p.m.)
● WHAT TO BRING: A flower to honor John Lewis and a sign. Sign-slogan ideas: mbl.fyi/ss
● RSVP: mbl.fyi/gt
● ORGANIZERS: Bri the Change Foundation, Hoosiers for the Separation of Church and State, Indivisible Northeast Indiana, League of Women Voters of Fort Wayne, The Original Black Panther Party ‒ Fort Wayne, Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fort Wayne.
This national day of nonviolent action demands that Congress protect our freedom to vote, stand up to authoritarianism, and fight back against attacks on our communities from Black and Brown Americans to immigrants, LGBTQ+ folks and working families.
Let’s get into Good Trouble for democracy, for justice and for each other!
WHAT TO DO NOW?
‒ Please RSVP: mbl.fyi/gt
‒ Volunteer to help at the march and rally: Can you help monitor the crowd, take photos and videos, be interviewed by the press and/or set up and tear down at the courthouse? Tell us: mbl.fyi/vo.
