The Fort Monroe Canoe Project

The Fort Monroe Canoe Project is a year-long project to craft dugout canoes. Join Historic Interpreters Fallon Burner and Russell Reed for a living history program to learn how Virginia Indigenous people crafted dugout canoes.

Featuring Craft Demonstrations, Artifact Reproductions & Interactive Activities

Support Provided by the Fort Monroe Foundation and Newport News Shipbuilding, a Division of Huntington Ingalls.
