Help the Hooch

The Hooch needs your help! MWR has teamed up with Fort Benning’s Clean Water Act Program for the annual river cleanup on October 3 from 9 – 11 a.m. and make a positive impact on our ecosystem and watershed. Just a few hours of your time can make a world of difference in our water quality and environmental health.

Volunteers will meet their site captains at their assigned sites to clean up and receive their safety briefing. You are welcome to bring your own boat! Join your community and assist in cleaning up our rivers, streams, ponds, and watershed.

Fort Benning’s Help the ‘Hooch is the installation’s annual Chattahoochee River cleanup. Lunch will be provided for all participants at Uchee Creek Campground.

WHAT TO WEAR
• Clothes you don't mind getting dirty
• Comfortable shirt (long sleeves can provide extra protection against insects and thorny plants)
• Pants
• Closed-toe shoes (work boots if you have them)
• Hat
• Eye protection
• Work gloves (if you have them; a limited supply will be available at each site)
• Bug spray
• Sunscreen
• Waders (optional)
