About this Event

Join us for the June edition of The Work Beneath | Artist Talk Series
Hosted by Liz Ortiz & Stacey Sickler of Mad Hare Press & Peaced Together Art
www.madharepress.com | www.peacedtogetherart.com

This month’s theme, Breaking the Stigma Through Art, brings together three local artists who use their creative practices to challenge stigma, foster healing, and build meaningful connection.

Each artist will share their personal journey and how their work opens conversations often left in the dark. From navigating mental health challenges to challenging cultural expectations. Together, we’ll explore the ways art can be a powerful act of vulnerability, expression, and community-building.

Whether through solo talks or a collaborative conversation, this evening is about real stories, real questions, and real growth.

Featured Artists:

  • Ann-Adele Blassingame
Tattoo artist and MFA student blending playful boldness with cultural influences from American traditional tattooing, popular culture, and the Black community. Ann-Adele sees tattoos as a way to reclaim love for their own skin and create safe, affirming sessions for clients of color.

  • Christine Hogg
