🐍 Rattlesnake Avoidance Workshop LEVEL 1! 🐍
This workshop is all about teaching our dogs Snake Avoidance using positive reinforcement! You will learn about snake safety & behavior, teaching an alert behavior, turning the sight, scent and sound of a snake into cues for a reliable recall & alert!
Summit's Level 1 workshop combines online learning and hands-on practice. Online, you’ll learn about rattlesnakes in the state of Colorado, including snake behavior, what to do if you find one, and how to avoid them. Work your way up to Week 3 material in the online classroom before your in-person workshop date. For the in-person workshop, you'll bring your dog and practice training avoidance & alert skills (introduced online) with rattlesnake scent, sight, and sound.
Note: Per Colorado wildlife protections, there are NO live snakes used in this class. We use various decoys and taxidermy specimens. Like any training, taking this workshop cannot guarantee that your dog will not get bitten by a rattlesnake in the future.
