Midweek music – Shirley Barr & Dave Falconer with Jo and Friends

At our next Wednesday night acoustic session, we have another exciting Bandstand debut – this time from Shirley Barr, who'll be performing with Dave Falconer.

Shirley is a Moray-based singer-songwriter who started writing her own material in April 2021. She's since taught herself to play tenor guitar, ukulele and shruti box and using these, sampled loops and field recordings, Shirley creates songs which are quirky, insightful, and sumptuously layered, melding beautiful melodies with novel lyrics to create soundscapes that leave you wanting more.

Dave Falconer is a songwriter, collaborator and multi-instrumentalist living in the northwest Highlands. He sees himself as a storyteller and doesn’t restrict himself to one genre, bringing elements of rock, ambient, gospel or trip hop to his performances – whatever is required to tell the tale – but always maintains an element that is recognisable as his.

Join Jo, Shirley, Dave and the Bandstand team on 19 November for what's sure to be a mesmerising performance.
