1) BASURA
BASURA is an experimental audiovisual duo. In their live sets, installations, and digital productions, BASURA re-signifies the useless vice of web-surfing, working with sonic improvisation over an eccentric collection of videos rescued from the internet.
BASURA hosts an experimental YouTube-party through the deformed remix of a bizarre universe lost on the web. Like a satellite dish, BASURA captures the signals of digitized globality and trans/deforms them in real time. In this way, they generate an immersive audiovisual performance thanks to the development of scenic devices and the use of technologies designed for sound and visual performance.
BASURA began their performative experiments in 2018 and since then have appeared at various festivals, concert series, streams, and cultural events.
Valentín Pelisch is a composer, performer, and audiovisual artist; his works have been presented in America, Europe, and Asia. 3) AYU OKAKITA
Ayu Okakita is a Japanese singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer.
Through her personal compositions, Ayu, ethereal, enigmatic, and versatile in style, creates an emotionally and mentally striking atmosphere. After leaving Universal Music Japan that she released two albums on, she moved to the U.K. to explore the London music scene.
In 2008, she released her solo album, and joined the band ‘’Nedry’’ (trip hop/dubstep).
Releasing two albums on Monotreme Records, Nedry toured Europe and performed at festivals including Sonar, Roskilde Festival and SXSW. In 2012, she moved back to Japan and started working/experimenting on her solo project. In 2019, she released ‘’sayonara dance’’ (written, recorded, produced and mixed by herself) drawing influences from various genres of music such as electronica, trip hop, industrial, acoustic and experiences that she gained in Europe.
A leading English producer of drum and bass, dBridge did a remix for her, and she performed at Red Bull Music studio in Tokyo with her laptop, acoustic guitar, two loopers, and pedals.
In 2022, Ayu was invited to play for an International Contemporary Art Festival ‘’FIAC’’in Mexico, which left her an unforgettable impact performing a full show in a beautiful theatre.
