Professional Performative improvisors Shared Practice Sessions – OPEN CALL

This is an open invitation to professionals working with voice and movement in performance improvisation / instant composition to join and share practices over the course of a week. Susanne Bentley & Sandie Brischler have received a residency to make this happen and will be your hosts.

This meeting aims to share our current interests in practicing performative improvisation, in a possibly more in-depth way than we can during the year with everyone’s busy schedules. It’s a chance to connect in a co-creative way, hone our skills, re-inspire our performing and teaching. Days can be led by 1 or more performers, malleable as we need. Influences of the group could be Ruth Zaporah (Action Theater) & Sten Rudstrom, Andrew Morrish, Julyen Hamilton, Katie Duck, David Zambrano…
Requirements to join would be to be currently actively engaged in practicing and performing improvisation and/or the transmission of it, plus a curiosity and an openness to test other’s ideas.
➔ Public showing: A public performance is planned on the last day in P.A.R.T.S, and it would also be possible to show some results of our research each day of the residency, if the group wishes.
➔ Practical infos:
Participants will join ideally for the entire week, but we are open to co-creating a more flexible schedule. For complete clarity, there is no accommodation or financial aid possible for this meeting, we only received a studio. In order to fit in the studio we have been allocated, and for ease of planning we would limit the group to maximum 8 participants.

From 18h: Optional time, depending of the wishes of the group: Public showing, and/or feedbacks, and/or special focus of research....(to be discuss on the first day).
