Operation Rising Spirits

Join us on Thursday, December 4 at 6:00 PM at Jimmy’s Place, 7411 W Madison St., for Operation Rising Spirits, through the Department of Veterans Affairs with Commissioner Michelle Melin-Rogovin and the Historical Society of Forest Park. Together, we’ll write cards to veterans living in Illinois veterans’ homes to share messages of gratitude and cheer this holiday season. Last year, Forest Park wrote more than half of all the holiday cards collected for Operation Rising Spirits, and we hope to keep that tradition going strong. The Historical Society will also share information about veterans from Forest Park and their stories of service. This free, family-friendly event is open to the public and includes all supplies, plus pizza and soft drinks provided.
