Stargazing with Murriyang

Join us for a Stargazing Evening at Murriyang, located at the CSIRO’s Parkes Observatory Visitors Centre for a night observing the stars with the Central West Astronomical Society (CWAS).

This will take place Friday 29th August 2025 from 5:30pm to 8pm. If the weather is bad, a backup date has been planned for Saturday 30th August 2025.

This is a free event with the CWAS setting up telescopes on the lawn for visitors to view the night sky. Light refreshments will be available, along with a BBQ which will create the best family friendly event for everyone!

The playground will be open for use throughout the evening, and the Visitors Centre and Shop will be open from 5 - 5:30pm for purchases or to just look around.
