On the 20th of July 2025, Folkestone will host the famous Wuthering Heights Day.
Last year, around 30 paddlers on paddleboards and kayaks took to the water to participate in the iconic Kate Bush dance. The roar from the Harbour Arm as the "Flotilla of Kate's" made its way across the harbour was phenomenal.
While our routine may not have entirely matched the performance of the thousands dressed in red above us, we framed our faces, swayed our bodies, and waved our paddles in the air like Neptune wielding his trident.
The excitement didn’t end on the water; our smiles and laughter were relived for days afterward through the hundreds of photos and videos that emerged, including coverage from BBC News, The Guardian, national news outlets, and local papers.
We invite anyone with a paddleboard or kayak to get involved this year and embrace their inner Kate Bush while joining the water community.
Don’t worry—you don’t need to stand and twirl around. We will sit or kneel and dance from the upper body. This family water event is all about having fun and getting involved.
We will participate in the noon routine, which works with the high tide, so we need to be on the water by 11:30 a.m.
Don’t forget your red outfit, bring your paddle, and bring your fun spirit to the water. Let’s create a sea of red both on land and on the water! 💃🏼💃🏼

We will only cancel OUR participation in this event if the wind is not in our favour, especially as this is in the outer harbour bay and safety is paramount. We will make the announcement on the morning of the 20th if we can’t for safety reasons. So keep your fingers and toes crossed for no wind!
