The Beatles at Shea Stadium

Join us at Kingsland Homestead for a special slide show presentation and screening celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Beatles at Shea Stadium. On a warm evening on August 15, 1965, John, Paul, George and Ringo took the stage at center field and played a dozen of their hits before a crowd of 55,600 screaming fans. In a 1970 interview John Lennon said, "At Shea Stadium, I saw the top of the Mountain." And Ringo Starr said in a 1995 interview, "What I remember most about the concert was that we were so far away from the audience and screaming had become the thing to do. Everybody screamed. If you look at the footage, you can see how we reacted to the place. It was very big and very strange."

The program will feature footage from the concert, one of the most historic in modern music history!

Admission cost $15 for non-members and $10 for QHS members. Limited parking is available on site in our driveway.
