The holidays bring moments of happiness and celebration, but they can also carry sadness—especially when the world around us says we should be happy during this time of year.
🕊️ A Word From the Facilitator
As a facilitator, I feel called to bring a grief retreat to Mount Saint Francis during the holiday season because I know how deeply grief can weigh on hearts at a time when the world around us seems filled with joy and celebration. While many are smiling and gathering with loved ones, others are quietly carrying loneliness, sorrow, and the ache of absence.
The holidays can intensify grief, but healing begins when we do not have to walk that journey alone. By gathering in a safe and faith-filled space, surrounded by others who understand the pain of loss, retreatants can find comfort, solidarity, and hope.
At Mount Saint Francis, we can offer this sacred space—a place to honor loved ones, to express sorrow honestly, and to rest in God’s compassionate presence. My hope is that participants leave knowing they are not alone, that their grief is seen and shared, and that even in loss, God’s love continues to hold them.
