Folk Music & Nature Camp

9:00 am to 4:00 pm Daily
With a final concert from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Thursday!

This specialty camp has been designed around the vibrant culture of song and dance prevalent in the day-to-day KAN School culture. The three mediums: strings; voice and dance are harmonized throughout the week around the theme of folk music. Each day we will start with learning folk dances from simple circle dances to some fun contra & square dances enjoyed in the Maritime tradition of the area. Then we’ll break off into music workshops in small groups. Additionally all campers will adventure out into the field and forest for games, exploration and fun. The camp has been designed to be inclusive for both amateur and experienced musicians. The registration forms for this camp request detailed information regarding your campers musical experience and interest – to guide our musical selections and planning. We can hardly wait to sing, play and dance together!
