Herb Workshop with Summer McCreless and Kailey Smith

Would you like to start growing herbs in your garden, but aren’t sure how to get started? If so- join me on Thursday, April 24th from 5:30-7pm at the Idyllwilde shop to welcome Summer McCreless of Mothering Herbs and Kailey Smith of Waving Leaves Nursery for an exploration of herbs, including rosemary, lavender, sage and thyme. Each of these four commonly used herbs bring powerful gifts to the planet, and humans have had relationships with them for thousands of years. In this workshop we’ll learn how to incorporate these plants into our lives as medicine, food and fun.

What you’ll learn:

Summer McCreless of Mothering Herbs will guide participants through the process of making herbal products for kitchen and bath; she will also demonstrate an herbal honey infusion that can be used for wellness benefits. Kailey Smith of Waving Leaves Nursery will talk about how to grow herbs at home. We’ll discuss growing from seed, propagating from cuttings, and what to look out for in the growing process.

You’ll go home with the two herbal products you prepare during the workshop, additional recipes, a live herb plant of your choice, and a deeper connection with Mother Earth.
