4-H Showmanship:
- Registration and Check-in will begin at 5:00 pm on Thursday, November 6, 2024, in the Livestock Barn at the ECA Fairgrounds.
- The show will begin at 6:00 pm. No registrations will be allowed after 5:45pm.
- Exhibitors and other persons practicing un-sportsman like behavior or not adhering to the show rules will be asked to leave the show barn; in this case, such exhibitors will be barred from competition and receipt of premiums and/or awards.
- All decisions made by judges will be final.
- The show is open to all SC 4-H members ages 5 to 18 (as of January 1, 2025) and SC FFA members.
- Please bring the chicken and /or the rabbit you will be showing in a suitable clean cage with plenty of clean bedding.
- You are responsible for providing food and water for your chicken and/or rabbit, along with suitable containers for feed and water.
- The ECA Fair manager reserves the right to make decisions concerning changes to rules, regulations, and/or health requirements.
Rabbit Show:
- All rabbits must be contained in a carrier.
- Cages will be provided for the show ring only.
- On show day, the name of each participant will be on a list at the Livestock Gate next to the Livestock barn. One adult may accompany the participant. Additional passes may be purchased in advance or at the gate.
- All rabbits entered in the show must be free of parasites, or any contagious condition. A health check will be conducted before any rabbit is allowed to be kept on the premises.
- Showmanship classes will be shown with all breeds combined.
Poultry Show:
- Youth Poultry Show: Open to SC 4-H and FFA members to exhibit a single entry bird for judging(confirmation, breed standards, layer quality, and health); no roosters.
- Poultry Showmanship: Open to SC 4-H and FFA members; three age divisions; no roosters. One Grand and Reserve Grand Showmanship award given.
- Caging of birds: doors open at 5 pm; arrive minimum of 20 minutes prior to show to set up your cage (which starts at 6 pm).
- Poultry must have cleared the NPIP testing and have record (wing band) showing a 90 day or less testing date of NPIP. Poultry that is not registered with the 4-H Poultry Project needs to have proof of NPIP testing. All poultry should be free and clear of visible signs of sickness, disease, parasites or health issues.
- Poultry that shows signs of illness or excessive health concerns may be dismissed.

SHOWMANSHIP DIVISIONS (age as of January 1, 2025)
Clover Division: Ages 5-8
Junior Division: Ages 9 -13
Senior Division: Ages 14-19

Membership requirement: Current 4-H membership in is required for participation in this event.
Custodial Care: Please note that this event and its coordinators do not assume custodial care of youth in attendance. Adults (parents, guardians, volunteers, coaches, or chaperones) must be present for the supervision of youth participants.
