Luenell, the “Original Bad Girl of Comedy,” may be small in stature, but she makes up for it with a big personality, a booming voice and infectious laughter. Born in Arkansas and raised in Oakland, California, Luenell has been thrilling audiences with her brand of comedy for nearly 30 years.
One of the most sought-after and in-demand female comics on the scene, Luenell is currently headlining a residency at Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club on the Las Vegas strip. After releasing her successful Netflix comedy special, Town Business, executive produced by Dave Chappelle, Luenell performed at the famed Apollo Theater in New York City to a sold-out crowd. Immediately after her gig at the Apollo, Luenell followed up with yet another sold-out performance at the Netflix Is a Joke Festival in Los Angeles.
Luenell’s extensive body of work in film and television began with her breakout role in the Oscar-nominated film Borat. Ironically, in the wildly successful film, she portrays a prostitute named Luenell. Her other film credits include two Eddie Murphy movies – Coming 2 America and Dolemite Is My Name. She also scored roles in Spring Breakdown, All About Steve, Think Like a Man, Think Like a Man Too, and Taken 2, as well as the Oscar-winning A Star is Born.
On the small screen, Luenell can be seen in Hacks, The Last O.G., The Middle, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Headcase, Chocolate News, and Californication – among many, many more.
Runtime: Approximately 45-55 minutes
Age recommendation: 18+ due to strong language and adult themes
