Climate Resilient Flint Planting Party! (2 locations - see description!)

Through the Climate Resilient Flint project, we're conducting a "Cool Lot" project to plant trees for shade across vacant lots and parks in May and June 2025. We welcome all who can help and support Flint neighborhood groups' growing visions of a healthy, climate-safe community!

Trees create cooling shade, beautify neighborhoods, and improve air quality by breathing in pollution and breathing out healthy oxygen.

Thanks to our partnership with Kettering University, holes for the trees will be pre-dug. Volunteers are needed to plant the trees and cover them with mulch. Fresh fruit, granola bars and water will be provided to volunteers to sustain our energy.

Note: For this volunteer date, we are planting trees at two nearby locations! First we'll meet at a block of vacant lots on Cooper Ave. between Wisner St. and Winona St. (across from Sarvis Park). Then, we'll finish planting inside Sarvis Park.
