Victorian Renewable Energy Terminal Roundtable Session - Flinders

The Port of Hastings is hosting a Roundtable Session with experts preparing the technical studies for the Victorian Renewable Energy Terminal’s Environment Effects Statement (EES).

Come along to:

• Hear an update on the project design and assessment processes underway
• Learn about the marine ecology and waterbirds studies from the technical experts
• Ask questions and give your feedback in roundtable discussions with the Port of Hastings team and technical experts

Your feedback will help to inform the EES studies taking place.

About the project

The Victorian Government has identified the Victorian Renewable Energy Terminal as important to supporting the state’s offshore wind generation targets and achieving net zero emissions by 2045. The Terminal is proposed to be developed at the Old Tyabb Reclamation Area (OTRA), and the adjacent marine waters within the port precinct and between Esso’s Long Island Point liquid berth and BlueScope wharves.

The Port of Hastings has many attributes that make it an ideal location for an offshore wind assembly port, including large areas of appropriately zoned land close to a deep water channel and proximity to proposed offshore wind farms off the coast of Victoria.‍ The proposed Terminal will receive, store, and assemble offshore wind components before they are transported to offshore wind farms off the Victorian coast for installation.
