Wednesday Night Blues at Charly's

The NAZBA Wednesday Night Blues Jam at Charly's has a great lineup of players for September! Opening the month is Sammy Mac (harp and vocals) from the Mother Road Trio Band (MRT) accompanied by Rich Bowen (guitar and vocals). Sammy while with the original MRT went on to become a semi-finalist in the 2018 Memphis International Blues Challenge (IBC) and is also an Arizona Blues Hall of Fame member. Rich Bowen has played with a number of high profile Flagstaff bands and has been part of the Flagstaff music scene for many years. The following week brings Elvin Killerbee (guitar and vocals) from Prescott to Charly's. Elvin has competed in the Memphis IBC and was recently inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame® (Arizona) this past May. You'll hear some great SRV and other familiar tunes from this seasoned bluesman. The third week of September brings DL Harrison (guitar and vocals) up from Cottonwood. DL represented NAZBA at the 2017 Memphis IBC (solo artist) and you'll hear some great blues dance tunes along with standards from his repertoire. Rounding out the September lineup is Chuck Hall (guitar and vocals) making the trip from Phoenix! Chuck is always the consummate entertainer a fabulous guitar player and an Arizona Blues Hall of Fame inductee. Charly's at the Weatherford Hotel is a great place to enjoy some mid week entertainment featuring some of the blues Blues artists from around the State. Service is always excellent and you can get your favorite beverages hand crafted by a dedicated bar staff. There is an extensive food menu so you can order something early and enjoy it throughout the show. After the first set we open the stage up to jammers and you never know who will stop in to play! The range goes from seasoned pros to just players wanting to have some fun. We start at 7PM and go until 9:30PM so you'll get home at a decent hour.
