***Fish must swim away after release. Dead fish will be disqualified from the weight of the bag***
All teams are to be back at the ramp by the designated finish time or penalties will apply at 50gms per minute or part thereof up to a maximum of 15 minutes when your catch will be DQ’d. Upon return to the ramp teams park on the beach next to the ramp for the live weigh in and to hand back your key tag.
If you are providing assistance for a boat in distress then let the Tournament Director know and consideration will be made for this.
Fishing Rules and Etiquette
No fishing within 30m of another competitor's boat.
Fishing is not permitted within any defined non boating or non fishing areas. If asked to leave an area, then please do so.
PFD’s to be worn whilst under way.
Observe speed zones. 40 knots and 6knots where applicable
No fishing of any marinas. This includes the front. So basically, a 30m exclusion zone around them.
• Anglers may fish any line class with spin, baitcast, spin cast or flyfishing tackle.
• Trolling is not permitted - Lure and fly CASTING only. Trolling is defined as using the momentum of the boat to give the lure action.
**NO BAIT OR BERLEY is permitted to be used under any circumstances**
• Any speed restrictions, non-boating or non- fishing areas must be adhered to; failure to do this will result in either disqualification from the session.
• Anglers may only use one rod at a time while fishing. This includes such cases as when a lure is snagged but still attached to the rod, anglers can not pick up another rod and begin casting - this would constitute using two rods.
• Any complaints regarding a breach of the rules must be addressed to the on-site Tournament Director immediately after the event so a ruling can be made prior to the presentations. Penalties for rule and conduct violations may result in disqualification from the tournament.
• Any concerns regarding clarification of rules can be discussed with officials BEFORE the start of the tournament.
Sportsmanship
• QTS sportsmanship would dictate that care of fellow competitors is of utmost importance. If an angler or boat is in distress it is expected that other competitors will assist. Remember that safety is more important than your day’s catch.
• It is expected that anglers shall, at all times, conduct themselves in a manner that will reflect favourably on the QTS, its members, representatives and sponsors.
The Tournament Director reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone who has been previously expelled/banned from any other event, series or affiliated organisation. The Queensland Teams Series aligns itself with the values of the Australian Bass Tournaments (ABT) and as such any angler or person who has been previously banned/expelled from fishing an ABT event may also be excluded from the Queensland Teams Series. This decision will be at the discretion of the QTS Tournament Director and all decisions as such will be final.
***YOUWILL NEED A NSW FISHING LICENCE TO FISH THIS EVENT***
