Samoa Dunes Recreation Area

Join the Redwood Region Audubon Society for a field trip to Samoa Dunes Recreation Area on Saturday, February 21, at 8:30 a.m. This BLM-managed site at the tip of the Samoa Peninsula offers a wide variety of habitats and birds in a small area. Join leader Ken Burton (shrikethree AT gmail DOT com) for a half-day outing to explore the willow thickets, eucalyptus groves, dunes, jetties, and adjacent bay and channel for passerines, shorebirds, waterfowl, raptors, etc. Meet at the Samoa Dunes OHV Staging Area at 8:30 a.m.; wear appropriate shoes for trails that could be muddy or flooded.
