Instructor Info: Mary Stankevicius
Originally from Orangeville, Ontario, Mary grew up on a small farm. She later moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia, to study at NSCAD University, where she discovered her passion for ceramics. That passion led her to the Kansas City Art Institute in Missouri, where she focused on atmospheric kiln firing. After graduating, she was accepted into an intensive international program at the University of Long Beach in California, where she had the opportunity to work alongside ten international ceramic artists. She then took part in a one-year residency at Medalta in Medicine Hat, Alberta, where she met her partner, fellow potter Nolan Drew. Her journey continued with the completion of an MFA at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg. Eventually, she returned to the West Coast, where she now lives and works—sharing her home with Oswald the dog and Frank the cat.
This workshop is held in our basement pottery studio access via steep stairs.
