Learn to Weave: wool scarf
Dates: Feb 1st, Feb 8th, Feb 22 & March 1st (if needed)

This course will focus on the fundamentals of weaving. Each participant will weave a merino wool scarf as they learn the weaving process from start to finish. This is a course for new weavers, no prior experience required.
In this course the participants will:
Plan a simple wool scarf project
Wind the warp for wool scarf
Dress the loom, wind on, thread the heddles and sley the reed
Weave the wool scarf
Learn about finishing
All Materials and supplies are provided.
Instructors will take participants through the weaving process step by step. Each class will build on the one before, advancing the project. Instructors are members of the Fernie Fibre Arts Guild. The Guild is a collective of fibre artists: weavers, spinners, dyers, felters, embroiderers, knitters and crocheters. It is a supportive community committed to teaching, learning and practicing fibre arts in the Elk Valley.
