Introduction
Rigid heddle weaving is an accessible and versatile form of handweaving, ideal for beginners and enthusiasts seeking to create beautiful, functional textiles. This workshop is designed to introduce participants to the basics of weaving using a rigid heddle loom, guiding them through an overview of the loom, some weaving basics, warping the loom, and weaving.
Skill Level: Beginners and anyone wanting to refresh their skills.
Materials Provided: Looms, yarns, tools, instructions.
Objectives
Learn the terminology and mechanics of rigid heddle weaving, Understand loom setup and warping techniques, Create a simple woven project, such as a scarf or table runner
What to Bring
Notebook and pen for notes and sketches
