Wishing Well Theatre returns to Fenton’s Rackham Park with one of Shakespeare’s best told love stories – Romeo and Juliet, directed by Ricky Philippi.
In 1990s America, two rival families, the tech-savvy Montagues and the music-focused Capulets, clash against an urban backdrop. Romeo Montague, a young man in the punk scene, meets aspiring musician Juliet Capulet at an underground party, sparking an intense connection amidst family animosity. As their secret romance grows, they face social pressures and misunderstandings that lead to reckless choices and tragic consequences. Set against the vibrant culture of grunge music and poetry, this adaptation of Shakespeare's tale explores love and identity, culminating in a heart-wrenching conclusion that impacts their community.
Performances will take place at 7:30pm on 8/22, 8/23, 8/24, 8/29, 8/30, 8/31 in Rackham Park.
