Support local pollinators and bring your garden to life! In this interactive adult workshop, you’ll learn how to create safe, attractive habitats for bees, butterflies, and other vital pollinators. Our experienced Horticulture Education Coordinator will guide you through the importance of pollinators, the types of homes they need, and how to build your own.
Participants will leave with a handmade pollinator home and practical tips for encouraging pollinator activity in their own outdoor spaces. All materials are included—just bring your creativity and love for nature!

Presenter: Chad Shelby has been studying Horticulture since 2018. He completed his A.A.S. in Horticulture and is currently pursuing his B.S. in Agriculture Education. Before entering Horticulture, he was in the U.S. Army for 10 years, where he served as an Infantryman. Over the years, he has gained experience in adult education, viticulture, project management, irrigation, and greenhouse/nursery management. He has been the project manager for several pro bono projects, specifically ones that involve Non-Profits like The C.A.R.E Clinic and St. John’s Episcopal Church. His work includes The Staff garden at the C.A.R.E. Clinic, Community Patriot Arts Connection Veteran’s Garden, and building the Daylily Garden at Cape Fear Botanical Garden.
