Dive deeper into our popular class, Healing With Nature. In this seminar, students will be given more exposure to plants that are useful for anyone looking to switch to a more herbal approach to their health. Students will learn how these medicinal plants get their properties and how those properties help bring a more natural healing aspect to our lives. Attendance to a previous Healing With Nature will help but is not required.
Audience Target: Adults and teens ages 10+. Ideal for herbal beginners, wellness enthusiasts, and anyone curious about the power of plants to support health and vitality.

Workshop Benefits/Learning Outcomes:
* Identify Common Medicinal Plants – Participants will learn to recognize and name key medicinal herbs found in gardens, markets, and the wild.
* Understand the Health Benefits and Uses of Medicinal Plants – Participants will explore the traditional and contemporary uses of various herbs to support physical and emotional well-being.
* Learn the modes of action of specific chemicals released by plants
* Understand the complexities of herbal remedies and how they may benefit you.

Presenter: Chad Shelby has been studying Horticulture since 2018. He completed his A.A.S. in Horticulture and is currently pursuing his B.S. in Agriculture Education. He has been the project manager for several pro bono projects, specifically ones that involve Non-Profits like the C.A.R.E Clinic and St. John’s Episcopal Church. His work includes The Staff Garden at the C.A.R.E. Clinic, Community Patriot Arts Connection Veteran’s Garden, and building the Daylily Garden at Cape Fear Botanical Garden.
