🏁 Legacy & Laughter: A Resilient Family Day 🎯 The Heart of the Day:
🧭 The GRIT Adventures Resiliency Family Challenge | Earn Your Family Communication Badges 💬
————————————————————
Saturday, July 12, 2025 | Rick’s Place | 12:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Hosted by United by Service (UxS), a program of Keep Being Resilient (KBR)
Get ready for a one-of-a-kind experience where families don’t just play together—they grow together. This year’s main event is the Family Challenge, an interactive obstacle course crafted by MSG Jesse Tubb, founder of GRIT Adventures and a lifelong resilience-builder.
Every family that participates in the race will walk away with more than just memories—you’ll earn your Communication Badge as a symbol of the teamwork, courage, and connection you built together.
🧡 What This Day Is All About:
This FREE event is more than fun—it’s about equipping families with practical tools to communicate, lead, and support one another as a resilient team.
Together, parents and children will explore:
• Personal strengths and self-awareness
• Healthy, clear communication
• Emotional regulation and leadership
• The value of taking a PAUSE before reacting
💬 Parents will take part in a series of short, high-impact workshops that include:
• Tools for pausing before reacting—using presence over pressure
• TMF’s Character and Strengths Workshop, helping you discover your family’s unique communication blueprint
• A hands-on creative activity: building your own PAUSE Paddle—a visual reminder to slow down, breathe, and support your family team with intention. This will also serve as your Family Cheering Paddle during the Resiliency Race, personalized with your team name.
👦🏽 Children will enjoy outdoor games and guided challenges led by Legacy Volunteers, including a dynamic Character Does Matter session from TMF, teaching values like:
• Courage
• Integrity
• Teamwork
• Compassion
🛡️ The day builds toward the GRIT Adventures Resiliency Race, designed by MSG Jesse Tubb—a family team challenge that calls for connection, problem-solving, and a whole lot of laughter.
🏅 Every family will earn a Communication Badge to take home—a symbol of growth, strength, and the intention to keep practicing what was learned.
Because at KBR, we don’t just talk about resiliency—we model it, we teach it, and we practice it together.
