Falls are a leading health concern for older adults. Each year, one in four people over the age of 65 experiences a fall, which can impact mobility, independence, and overall quality of life.
To help address this issue, Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging (NEI3A) is offering Healthy Steps for Older Adults (HSOA), an evidence-based fall risk screening and education program designed for adults age 50 and older.
This interactive class provides practical guidance on reducing fall risks through:
• Choosing proper footwear
• Making your home safer
• Maintaining good nutrition for bone health
• Practicing simple exercises that build strength and balance
Participants will also take home a program handbook with exercises and resources to support ongoing health and independence.
Date & Time: Monday, November 17, 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Location: Fayette Community Library, 104 W. State Street, Fayette, IA 52142
Lunch will be provided. The classes are available with a suggested voluntary contribution of $25. Scholarships are available for those who request financial assistance.
