Willmer House Family Day

A day of free, fun, and accessible activities themed around Willmer House, its occupants, and construction.

The Museum of Farnham is situated in Willmer House, a Grade I listed building of national significance. Built in 1718 by hop merchant John Thorne, the building is as much a part of the museum’s collection as the objects housed within it.

During this event you will be able to learn about the history of the house from the people who once lived and worked here: from 18th century gentleman John Thorne to a strict Victorian teacher who once taught at the Willmer House School for Young Ladies.

For those feeling creative, local art group Making Matters will be running a brick carving activity where you can add your mark to a new garden sculpture made of bricks. There will also be some building themed crafts and activities for little ones to enjoy.
