Last November when I bought my new (old) house, I was under the assumption that it had a garage. Or more precisely, a carriage house – after all, it *was* built in 1876.
Was I ever wrong. It’s a party barn!
And you can be the first to celebrate there. Join me the evening of Wednesday, July 30 for a fun summer party to support my re-election to Farmington City Council this November.
The party will be held in my back yard and will feature homemade mojitos with locally-grown mint and fresh lime. I personally think I make the best mojito in town, with the sole exception of Spruce + Ash. Come by and be the judge yourself. A refreshing zero-proof beverage will also be served.
Chat with friends and neighbors, check out my Michigan native wildflowers, ask me about Farmington hot topics, and sign up for a yard sign this fall. If you’re able, please bring a check! Every dollar will help me pay for postage and fliers to reach as many Farmington voters as possible by Nov. 4.
Please make checks out to: "Committee to Elect Maria Taylor." Or donate online via Paypal or Venmo:

More ways you can pitch in:
-Bring a roll of postcard stamps
-Write an endorsement blurb that I can use on my website
-Sign up to volunteer. A gift of “write 100 postcards” or “knock 100 doors” is just as helpful as $100
And if I learned one thing from working on the Bicentennial Gala last year, it’s that every good party needs a dress code. This party’s theme is “Summer Sparkler.” Interpret that as you wish – and for those who are inclined, consider this your invitation to glam up a bit, or wear something you don’t usually get to wear.
Please hit "going" if you plan to attend so I know how much mint to pick.
